Two years ago, this month, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic thyroid cancer. Without effective treatment, I was given about two months to live. Fortunately, I’ve never been very good at doing what I’m told. My days are hard and I’m always clinging to that edge, but for the moment, I’m still alive. And that’s something. A big something.
